Reading's a Breeze! Ltd is an independent educational publishing company, focussed on producing interactive, read-along eBooks to help young learners develop literacy skills in their first, or additional languages. Our texts are available in English, French, Italian, Mandarin and Spanish, with more languages coming in 2021.
The texts are levelled (1 - 5) based on instructional threshold for bands of high-frequency words. Instructional threshold is the level at which readers will be able to ascertain the meaning of unknown words by using the surrounding language and supporting images to fill in the gaps. Reading at instructional threshold has been shown to be a key determinant of vocabulary growth. Vocabulary size in early primary years is known to be one of the strongest predictors of future academic success.
For children learning to read for the first time, instructional threshold is considered to be achieved when 90-95% of vocabulary is already known to the reader. For children who have already developed some reading skills, instructional threshold is likely to be lower than this as they are able to call on their existing reading strategies to assist.
Reading’s a Breeze! Texts use 90-95% of high-frequency words:
Level 1 - Most commonly used 100 words
Level 2 - Most commonly used 200 words
Level 3 - Most commonly used 300 words
Level 4 - Most commonly used 400 words
Level 5 - Most commonly used 500 words

SMALL SCHOOLS (UP TO 300 STUDENTS): $120.00NZD PER YEAR
LARGE SCHOOLS (300 OR MORE STUDENTS): $180.00NZD PER YEAR
Upon purchase of a school subscription, your school community will be granted 12 months' access to the web app versions of all titles*, in all languages. This allows teachers to use the titles in class with students, but even more importantly, it allows students to access the titles at home. In fact, with the read-aloud narration, the whole family can join in. Key vocabulary and sentence structures can be revised every day, giving schools a concrete strategy for overcoming the constraints of the timetable and its impacts on learning outcomes.
